Wharton China Business Society (WCBS) is
a professional student-run organization at the Wharton School of University
of Pennsylvania. The organization is comprised of 5 major programs and
100 undergraduate student officers, focusing on providing activities and
programs that improve our understanding of China's business landscape and
markets.
Our programs are designed to connect and bridge students in the United
States to the Greater China region, whether it be for knowledge, career,
networking, or friendship.
Our People
The Wharton China Business Society has consistently benefited from an extremely talented group of people. From its founding the Wharton China Business Society's level of excellence has been consistently fueled by the personal ambition of its individual member. While the Wharton China Business Society is a student society, the level of quality and professionalism demanded by and of its members consistently demonstrates anything but a student level quality of work. Our Programs
Wharton China Business Forum
- The Business Forum is the oldest and largest program in the Wharton China Business Society. Consisting of over 60 members, the Business Forum holds an annual conference in the spring for Chinese business professionals as well as students and members of the local community. In the past the Business Forum has hosted notable speakers from such companies like Citigroup, Boshi and UPS.
Wharton China Career Program
- The Career Program, one of the Society's newest programs, focuses on developing internship opportunities for students. Using previous contacts established by various other programs as well as personal contacts, the career program in its first year established a wide variety of internship opportunities for students from leading companies such as Accenture.
Wharton China Summer Program
- A pioneer program, the Summer Program has been working consistently towards the goal of establishing a summer abroad program for students interested in China. Focusing on business as well as language studies the Summer Program will bring a truly innovative approach to the study abroad.
Wharton China Spring Tour Program
- The Tour Program takes place every year during the University of Pennsylvania's spring break. Taking place over a week, the Tour Program takes students on an in depth trip through many of the leading companies in China. In the past the Tour has visited the cities of Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong. The Tour Program visits a different location each year so the experience is never repetitive.
Sinopsis
- Our society's quarterly newsletter aims to provide all our members and external interest organizations a glance at our programs' updates, at current business news relating to China, and at Chinese culture. We will also feature society social events and showcase some of our leaders.
